For the three roots भृ (भृञ्) "to bear", मा (माङ्) "to measure" and हा (ओहाङ्) "to go", the vowel of the reduplicated syllable (the अभ्यास) becomes इ when श्लु follows — that is, in the third-class present. भृ reduplicates as भ भर्; the abhyāsa भ becomes भि, giving बिभर्ति "bears".
