इदम् and अदस्, in the forms without a क, do not take the ऐस् of the instrumental plural

The previous rule, 7.1.9 अतो भिस ऐस्, turns the instrumental-plural ending भिस् of an अ-stem into ऐस् — रामैः, not *रामेभिः. This rule holds that substitution back for two pronouns, इदम् and अदस्, in the forms that carry no क: their instrumental plural keeps भिस् as -भिः. So इदम् gives एभिः, 'by these', and अदस् gives अमीभिः, 'by those', where an ordinary अ-stem would end in -ऐः. The क named in the rule is the one अदस् takes in forms like अमुक, which are left out of the exception.
