In the vocative singular — the सम्बुद्धि, the case of address — the आप्, the feminine आ that ends stems like रमा and रसिका, becomes ए. The vocative ending सु is then dropped (by 6.1.69 एङ्ह्रस्वात्…, which drops a सम्बुद्धि after a short vowel or an एङ्), so the आ-stem's address form is bare: हे रमे, 'O Ramā', हे रसिके, 'O you who savour'. The च of the rule carries over the ए-substitution the preceding rules make before the endings ओस् and आङ्, extending it to the सम्बुद्धि.
