After a झष् — a voiced aspirated stop such as भ्, ध्, घ् — the त or थ that begins a following suffix becomes ध. The exception is दधाति (the reduplicated दा), which the rule sets aside. लभ् "to get" ends in the voiced aspirate भ्; before the agent-suffix तृ its त turns to ध: लभ् + तृ → लभ् + धृ, which after further change is लब्धा "the getter, the one who will obtain".
